The purpose of Daniela Sorani’s thesis ‘Aerodynamic optimization of a motorglider using mesh-morphing’ was to reduce the boundary layer separation on the root of the upper surface of the Taurus (a motorglider by Pipistrel d.o.o Ajdovščina) by a modification on the fairing using mesh morphing tools. This modification improved the aerodynamics performance of the airplane. The software used to develop this thesis are Fluent and Workbench by Ansys. Daniela also used RBF Morph (a FLUENT tool) to modify the airplane mesh.
