The annual AIAS Conference is one of Italy’s leading scientific events in the field of Mechanical Design and Machine Construction. It brings together researchers, academics, and industry professionals to […]
At the WCCM–ECCOMAS 2026 conference in Munich, a new research contribution explored the potential of combining high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics, advanced mesh morphing techniques, and artificial intelligence to accelerate the design and analysis of ship hulls. The paper, “A GPU-Accelerated AI-based Tools Framework for CFD-Based Ship Hull Design”, was presented within the Special Technology Session […]
After months of innovation, collaboration, and large-scale computation, the European PANDORA project has officially reached its conclusion and the results demonstrate the transformative power of combining High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, and advanced simulation. PANDORA addressed a critical challenge in vascular surgery: the need for patient-specific pre-operative planning for aortic graft procedures. Today, nearly 20% of these […]
We are pleased to announce the successful defense of the Master’s thesis “Interactive Aerodynamic Design Based on Physics-Informed Models and Immersive Visualization” by Mihai Alin Helciug at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, under the supervision of Prof. Marco E. Biancolini and co-supervision of Ing. Emanuele Di Meo. The research focused on the development of […]
For more than a decade, Prof. Marco Evangelos Biancolini from University of Rome Tor Vergata and Prof. Ignazio Maria Viola from University of Edinburgh have shared a common scientific vision: advancing nautical engineering through high-fidelity numerical simulation and translating cutting-edge research into practical tools for the marine industry. Leading, respectively, the rbfLAB and Voilab research […]
RBF Morph is pleased to congratulate Gabriele Bortolotto on earning his Engineering degree from the University of Rome Tor Vergata following the successful defense of his thesis, “Finite Element-Based Thermo-Structural Optimization of an Internal Combustion Engine Intake Manifold.” Conducted under the supervision of Prof. Marco Evangelos Biancolini, with co-supervisors Ing. Riccardo Serenella and Prof. Lorenzo […]
Published in the new Springer volume Digital Twins for Aerospace, edited by Marco Biancolini, Corrado Groth, and Ubaldo Cella, this contribution presents a workflow for aero-structural shape optimization based on high-fidelity Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) analysis. The study focuses on the optimization of aircraft winglets by integrating aerodynamic simulations with structural flexibility effects. A dedicated FSI […]
