RBF Morph participated in the 55th AIAS Conference, which took place from 2 to 5 September 2026 at Politecnico di Milano – Campus Bovisa La Masa.
The annual AIAS Conference is one of Italy’s leading scientific events in the field of Mechanical Design and Machine Construction. It brings together researchers, academics, and industry professionals to discuss recent advances in engineering methods, numerical simulation, and innovative design technologies.
As part of the conference technical program, Prof. Emilio L. Biancolini, Founder of RBF Morph and Associate Professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, presented two scientific contributions. The first focused on advanced methodologies for the aerospace sector, while the second addressed innovative applications in the automotive field, highlighting the role of mesh morphing and simulation-driven engineering in the development of high-performance products.
In addition to these technical presentations, Prof. Biancolini delivered the masterclass “AI for Interactive Structural Optimization: From FEM to VR.” The session demonstrated how Artificial Intelligence and reduced-order models can transform conventional finite element analysis into an interactive design exploration process. Starting from a simple educational example and progressing to an industrial engineering application, the masterclass illustrated how the integration of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Virtual Reality (VR) can support faster and more effective structural optimization.
AIAS 2026 represented an important opportunity for RBF Morph to share its latest research activities, engage with the scientific community, and discuss emerging approaches to AI-driven engineering simulation and product development.
