What Are You Looking For?

September 4, 2025

RBF Morph will participate in the upcoming CM3 – Transport 2025 | Technologies for Smart and Sustainable Transport Systems conference, organized by the Università degli Studi di Trieste in collaboration with CIRA. The event will take place in Trieste, Italy, from 24 to 26 September 2025.

This international conference addresses one of the most pressing challenges in modern engineering: the development of innovative, sustainable, and digitalized solutions for the transport sector. With a strong focus on AI-driven multi-disciplinary simulations, optimization techniques, and digital twins, CM3 will highlight state-of-the-art methodologies that support greener mobility and energy-efficient transport systems.

Our Contribution – The LESSICE Project

RBF Morph will present the LESSICE Project (Multiscale LES Simulation for In-Flight Ice Accretion), funded under Italy’s PNRR program. In-flight icing remains a critical challenge for aviation safety and sustainability. LESSICE combines high-fidelity CFD, LES simulations, and AI-based modeling to enhance the accuracy of ice accretion prediction and to evaluate its aerodynamic effects. The project aims to support the design of safer, more efficient, and energy-conscious ice protection systems.

The presentation will focus on advanced numerical methodologies for simulating in-flight ice formation, the integration of HPC, LES turbulence modeling, and machine learning for predictive performance analysis, as well as innovative approaches to real-time ice management and risk assessment, including Value-at-Risk (VaR) and Conditional Value-at-Risk (CVaR) techniques.

RBF Morph looks forward to contributing to the discussion with researchers, industry leaders, and innovators committed to shaping the future of smart and sustainable transport.
